What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences and improve your browsing experience.
Our Own Cookies
We set only two cookies ourselves, and only if you sign in. Both are essential: sign-in doesn't work without them.
- wsf_session: keeps you signed in. It lasts up to one year, or until you sign out, and scripts on the page cannot read it.
- wsf_oauth: used only while you sign in with Google, to make sure the sign-in that finishes is the one you started on our site. It is deleted as soon as sign-in finishes.
Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) to help us understand
which pages and puzzles people use. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Local Storage
We also use your browser's local storage, which is not a cookie, to save your game progress, your player ID, puzzles you create, and a few preferences. Your puzzle results are also sent to our server to run the leaderboards, streaks, and achievements. Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep and for how long.
Managing Cookies
You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. You can still play every puzzle without them, but you won't be able to stay signed in, and progress saved only in your browser will be lost.
