Microgreens: Sunflower, Radish, Pea Shoots and Broccoli Sprouts
Microgreens are the tiny first leaves of vegetables and herbs, harvested one to three weeks after sowing. This puzzle lists twelve popular ones: sunflower, pea, radish, broccoli, kale, cabbage, mustard, arugula, beet, chard, basil and amaranth. They are easy to grow on a windowsill and pack strong flavors, from peppery radish to nutty sunflower.
Some studies have found that microgreens can hold more vitamins than the grown vegetable, which helped make them popular with chefs. Five of the words are diagonal.
