A Skeleton Joke Hidden Among the Bones of the Body
Every bone in this word search belongs to a skeleton getting ready for a Halloween party. Find the ribcage, the backbone, the kneecap and the collarbone, then the party words: the invitation, the balloons, the dance floor and the masquerade.
When the last word is crossed off, the letters that are left over spell out a classic Halloween joke, read from left to right and top to bottom. A fun fact while you search: an adult skeleton has 206 bones, and more than half of them are in the hands and feet. The funny bone is not a bone at all, but a nerve at the elbow.
How the hidden message works
In this puzzle, every letter that is not part of a word belongs to a secret message of 50 letters. Find all 12 words first. Then read the letters that are left over, starting at the top left and going row by row from left to right, and write them down in order. Online, the message lights up on the grid the moment you find the last word. On the printable PDF there is a blank space for each letter, and the answer key shows the full message.
