Fall Color Words: Crimson, Amber, Russet and Gold

Autumn leaves are not only red and yellow. This puzzle teaches the richer names artists use for fall colors: crimson, a deep red; amber, a warm golden orange; russet, a reddish brown; and gold, alongside the everyday red, orange, yellow and brown.

It is a great vocabulary boost before an art lesson or a leaf walk, when children want more than one word for "red". Crimson, orange and russet run from the bottom of the grid to the top, and gold reads backwards.
