Haunted House Words for Preschool and Kindergarten

Only six words, the rooms and sounds of an old house: attic, basement, cobweb, creaking, ghost and shadow. With so few words, it is the easiest puzzle in the Halloween collection and a good first word search for preschoolers.

The words run in four directions, but never diagonally. Because there are only six of them, a lot of the grid is filler, so it still takes a little patience.

Attic: The room just under the roof of a house, often dusty and full of old forgotten things.
Basement: The floor of a house that is below the ground, often dark and cool.
Cobweb: An old, dusty spider web, the kind that hangs in corners of empty houses.
Creaking: A long squeaky sound, like an old door or wooden floor.
Ghost: The spirit of a dead person said to appear to the living.
Shadow: The dark shape made when something blocks the light.
